Direct from vetted plants
We contract with plants we have audited or qualified through third-party review. Every lot traces back to an establishment number, a harvest or farm area, and a production code — never anonymous re-traded cargo.
Apex Imports Inc is a Southern California importer and wholesale distributor of frozen seafood. We buy direct from vetted plants at origin and supply distributors, restaurant groups, supermarkets and further processors — with full service in both English and Chinese.
Importing seafood is rarely about price alone. It is about supply that does not disappear, specs that match the sample, customs that clear on time, and someone who answers the phone when something goes wrong. We built our process around those four things.

From blast freezing at origin through port pickup, third-party cold storage and final delivery, product is held at −18°C or below with temperature records retained and available on request.
FDA Prior Notice, customs entry, certificates of origin, health certificates and — where the species requires it — SIMP reporting are handled on our side. You receive cleared product, not a compliance project.
Before the first container we agree a written spec: size grading, glaze percentage, pack style, net weight and residue limits. If delivered goods do not match the approved sample, that is our problem to fix.
The same team negotiates with plants in Asia and South America and services local restaurant and supermarket accounts. Nothing gets lost through a third-party translator.
Full-container programs for distributors, plus pallet and case-level pickup from our Southern California cold storage for smaller accounts. Minimums are flexible.
A standing inventory program backed by made-to-order direct shipments from origin. Below are the main categories — full specifications are in the catalog.
Vannamei, black tiger and Argentine red shrimp. Shell-on, P&D, PDTO and cooked formats.
American lobster, snow crab clusters, Dungeness crab and pasteurized crab meat — whole, sectioned or cooked and frozen.
Atlantic salmon, Pacific cod, tilapia fillet and yellowfin tuna — whole, H&G, fillet and portion-cut.
Sea scallops, Pacific oysters, mussels, squid tubes and rings, and octopus.
From first enquiry to product in your freezer is typically four to eight weeks, depending on origin and sailing schedule.
Tell us species, size, volume and target price. We come back with pricing, origin options, the nearest sailing and a written specification sheet.
Samples ship for your approval alongside the plant's certifications, audit reports and most recent test results.
Production is scheduled on confirmation. Before loading we check appearance, net weight, glaze and temperature, and keep container photos on file.
We clear FDA and customs, move product into Southern California cold storage, then deliver or release for pickup on your schedule.
Risk in imported seafood concentrates in three places: temperature, residues and labelling. Each one has a document trail on our side that customers can pull at any time.
Channels want different things. We spec by channel rather than selling one grade to everyone.
Send species, size and volume. We usually come back with pricing and the nearest sailing within one business day. English or Chinese, whichever you prefer.
